Antony urges Man Utd to “impose their game” against Everton

The Red Devils bounced back from a disappointing derby when they grabbed a Europa League victory and Antony commented on what he thinks his side needs to do in their battle against Everton.

Antony

thinks Manchester United should “impose our game” when they go against Everton on Sunday. Following their disappointing 6-3 loss at the hands of Manchester City last weekend, they won the battle against Omonia Nicosia 3-2 in the Europa League on Thursday. United have another crucial game coming up against Everton, who have enjoyed a run of three consecutive victories in the Premier League for the first time since March 2021, when Carlo Ancelotti was at the helm.

Antony is ready for the game on Merseyside and he told Premier League Productions:

"We know it’s going to be a difficult, tough game.

"My team-mates have already spoken to me about this fixture. They said it will be difficult. We have to impose our game, show our strength.

"We shouldn’t get worked up and let our heads go down because of one game, one result. Sadly, we lost the last [Premier League] game but, when you think about it, we’ve beaten Liverpool and the league leaders Arsenal.

"Our season can’t be summarised by just one game. We’re now focused on the match against Everton and, God willing, we will get the three points."

Antony has established himself at the club since making a move from Ajax and is hoping to become the first United player to net in his first three clashes in the Premier League when they lock horns with Everton. The Brazilian insisted that his rich form is because of all the hard work he is doing in the training ground, adding:

"I’ve always worked very hard and the results are a consequence of this.

"I’ll always give 100 per cent, regardless of whether I score or not. It was nice to score another goal [against City] though, unfortunately, we lost the game.

"I was training that shot the day before the game. I hit about 10 to 15 balls and, thankfully, I was able to score the goal.

"Now it’s time to prepare and train more, correct mistakes, move in the right direction and achieve great things."
