Breaking: Sevilla appoints Sampaoli as the club's new head coach

The club confirmed after their crushing 4-1 Champions League defeat to Dortmund and poor performance in La Liga, the club decided to fire

During the 2016–17 season, Sampaoli coached

. He then left to take over the Argentine national team. The Argentine

a contract with the La Liga club that runs until June 2024.

in the 2015 Copa América final in Chile, he guided the Chilean national football team to their first Copa América victory.

Sampaoli

won three league championships and the Copa Sudamericana trophy as the head coach of Universidad de Chile. As a result of his achievements, he was appointed as the new coach of the Chilean men's national team in 2012, succeeding Claudio Borghi.

Leading

to a second-place finish behind champions Paris Saint-Germain in his only full season in charge and earning Champions League qualification, the former Argentina national team boss reportedly got frustrated with a lack of transfer activity and ambition from the club. Sampaoli left Marseille with 36 wins from 67 games in charge, and with a season still to run on his contract.
