Todibo slams referee after being sent off nine seconds into match
Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo has criticized the referee after he received a red card just nine-second into the game against Angers.
Former Barcelona defender
Jean-Clair Todibowas sent off just nine seconds into the game against Angers on Sunday in Ligue 1 for a foul on Abdallah Sima.
This is the fastest red card in the French top-flight history. It is also the fourth time a player in any of Europe's top five leagues has received a red card less than a minute into a match since 2010.
Todibo who also was sent off last month against Clermont Foot was not pleased with the referee and after the game criticized the refereeing standards in France football.
Todibo wrote on his Twitter page:
“A decision without reason that shocks me and which condemns my team to start the match with a big disadvantage. The decisions of the referees at the start of the season are very questionable, even scandalous and I hope that the LFP will do something to remedy this.”
scored late in the first half but they also lost a player due to a red card in the second half. Nice failed to equalize and the game finished with one goal. Angers now is in fourteen place in the table with eight points after eight games behind
Nicedue to goal difference.
The 22-year-old Todibo joined Nice on loan from Barcelona in 2021 and later that summer the French club made the transfer permanent.
