Suarez offers advice to Nunez following the reckless red card

The former star of the Reds has given his fellow countryman some very good advice.

On Monday, when

Darwin Nunez

made his home debut for the club, it felt like people had seen him play before. He played like

Luis Suarez

. In the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, the club's record signing was sent off in the second half for headbutting

Joachim Andersen

. It was a lousy end to Nunez's first game at Anfield, where he had also missed a couple of great chances before being sent off.

The 23-year-teammates old's were able to save a point against the Eagles, but his moment of madness will not be forgotten. Since the incident, Suarez has confirmed that he told his fellow countryman how to deal with Premier League defenders.

Even though he never got a red card in his three and a half years on Merseyside, the former Liverpool star was rarely out of trouble. If VAR had been around in 2013, when he bit Chelsea's

Branislav Ivanovic

, his punishments on the field would have been much harsher.

As he confirmed his contact with Nunez, Suarez was the first to say that he might not be the best person to give advice. Telemundo: Lo dijo: "After what happened to him the other day, I told him that his opponents would be looking for him twice or three times more often from now on.

"Even more so in

England

, he's hearing this from a fool who makes mistakes and pays for them, but falling and getting back up made me stronger. Give them no more chances because things will only get worse." Nunez was kicked off the field for being violent, so he won't be able to play in Liverpool's next three games. That includes going to Old Trafford to play Manchester United, Bournemouth, and Newcastle at home.

Aside from that, the young striker will be back for the Merseyside derby unless his ban is extended. At that point, Suarez was sure that his replacement had learned his lesson. "Darwin is someone who listens a lot," he said.

"He is brilliant in that way, and I think he will try to fix this. It's not a big deal, though, because we've all made mistakes and been kicked off the team. The problem is that he just got there, and, to put it simply, in England, they make a big deal out of everything."
