Barcelona ask Pique and Busquets to accept more pay cuts

Barcelona have requested captain Sergio Busquets and vice-captain Gerard Pique to cut their wages even more to help the club sign more new faces.

Barcelona

are struggling financially and have to balance their books and now, they believe that two big players need to take a wage cut in order for them to become sustainable again.

However, the club president, Joan Laporta, is trying to ease the situation by activating levers’, which is selling properties and TV rights of the club in exchange for cash. Blaugrana might have problems penning with more signings as the La Liga rules are strict.

The board have reportedly asked

Sergio Busquets

and

Gerard Pique

to take pay cuts to help the club’s situation.

Last summer, the duo accepted a large pay cut and they have been seen with the club’s officials recently.

However, some reports claim that they are not willing to accept any more pay cuts, but the situation might have changed recently.
