The former Barca star wanted to return to La Liga, but it seems that this possibility has decreased for now.

The former Spain midfielder, who spent an injury-riddled spell in France, left his club in search of a new challenge and hoped to return to his good days by joining another club. However, reports suggest that after he was offered to Las Palmas, the Spanish club rejected the offer and announced that they have no intention of signing the World Cup winner.
A club director said:
“Yes, of course they offered us Cesc Fabregas, just as 10,000 other names arrive at our offices and to our sporting directorate. But at the moment we can’t assume the salary of Cesc Fabregas. It’s a purely logical circumstance that any fan will understand. It doesn’t form part of our economic reality.”
Rumors suggest that Fabregas is considering a move to the Middle East and MLS in America, and his only option to return to Spain is Girona.
By returning to Girona, he will return to his native Catalonia and play in La Liga for the second time in his career.
