Gabriel Jesus scores twice on Arsenal debut in pre-season friendly

Gabriel Jesus scored twice in his Arsenal debut in their pre-season friendly on Friday.

won 5-3 against Nurnberg on Friday afternoon in their first pre-season friendly at the Max-Morlock-Stadion.

who has joined Arsenal in a £45m deal from

Manchester City

was named on the bench for the match. Jesus entered the match when his new side was 2-0 down at half-time.

The Brazilian forward scored just 84 seconds into his Arsenal debut. Arsenal scored three goals in the next 16 minutes. Mohamed Elneny's strike and own-goals from Christopher Schindler and Timhandwerker made it 4-2 to Arsenal. Nurnberg scored another goal and Jesus scored his second goal of the match.

Arsenal will play with Everton, Orlando City, Chelsea, and Sevilla in their pre-season tour before they begin their competitive season with a London derby against  Crystal Palace on August 5.

Jesus is the Gunners' fourth signing after Marquinhos, Matt Turner, and Fabio Vieira, and will wear the number 9 from next season. Jesus joined Manchester City from Palmeiras in January 2017. He scored 95 goals in 236 matches for City. Jesus won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, and four Carabao Cups.
