Xabi Alonso part ways with Real Sociedad B after 3 years at the helm

In a touching Instagram post, Xabi Alonso said his goodbyes to Real Sociedad B after three seasons in management.

“It has been an amazing three years back home at Real Sociedad,” he

wrote

“Thanks to Jokin, Roberto, the staff and all the players who have helped us to improve and enjoy this intense adventure so much. Aupa Sanse and Aupa Real!”

After a year as a coach in Real Madrid's youth system, Alonso headed to La Real in the summer of 2019.

Sanse

, La Real's second string, came in 20th place in

Segunda

this season.

During his tenure as coach, he oversaw 98 matches, winning 40, drawing 23 and losing 35. During his tenure, he utilized 51 players.

It's unclear where Alonso will head next. Throughout his 18-year senior career, he was a tremendously successful player, serving Real Sociedad, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich with acclaim.

He was also a significant member of Spain's golden era, which won Euro 2008, the World Cup in 2010, and Euro 2012.

Alonso will be eager to get into the first team this time around after three years of working with the second team and getting the hang of coaching. His future position will be crucial.
