Juventus reportedly set to revoke Aaron Ramsey's contract

Reports suggest that Juventus has made the first contact to terminate Aaron Ramsey's deal.

The Wales international arrived as a free agent from Arsenal in the summer of 2019 but has failed to establish himself as a regular starter due to a string of ailments.

In the first half of the season, he only made five appearances in all tournaments before going on loan to Rangers for the second half.

Ramsey's €7 million-a-year wage has made it tough to sell him, and Goal reports that preliminary measures have been taken to terminate his contract.

The scenario is comparable Gonzalo Higuain's situation, whose contract was terminated in the summer of 2020 and he went on a free transfer to Inter Miami.

Ramsey played in 70 games for

Juventus

in two and a half seasons, winning the

Serie A

, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa.

His loan spell with Rangers ended in disappointment, as he was the only player to miss a penalty in the Europa League final, which was won by

Bundesliga

club Eintracht Frankfurt.
