Ronaldinho perplexed by PSG fans as he lauds Neymar, Messi & Mbappe

After another Ligue 1 title, Ronaldinho has been caught surprised by critiques of Lionel Messi and Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain.

As he staged a defense of the club's under-fire superstars, Ronaldinho warned

Paris Saint-Germain

fans to be careful what they ask for.

Supporters have turned against Neymar and Lionel Messi in recent months, with Kylian Mbappe appearing to be the only member of the much-vaunted front three who has escaped their wrath.

Mbappe has had another fantastic season for PSG, netting 35 goals and providing 19 assists, whilst Neymar and Messi have struggled to live up to their lofty records.

Despite a pricey recruitment effort that brought a slew of big names to the Parc des Princes, many fans have been underwhelmed by the Parisian club's exploits this season.

Messi, an all-time great, joined from

Barcelona

, along with Gianluigi Donnarumma of Italy, Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid, Georginio Wijnaldum of Liverpool, and Inter's dashing full-back Achraf Hakimi.

Despite having assembled a star-studded roster, there has been such a reaction against PSG's display that the club's

Ligue 1

title triumph was scarcely recognized by fans last month.

Ronaldinho, on the other hand, does not comprehend the critics, telling RMC Sports:

"I don't understand because there are all these great players.

"And you want to change everything? What do you want to have? The worst players in the world?

"We have to wait for them to understand this new way of living and playing football. And the rest will come slowly. This adaptation is normal, to do things well."

Last May, Neymar inked a lucrative contract deal and is improbable to depart anytime soon, but some supporters are losing patience with the Brazilian.

Ronaldinho, a fellow Brazilian who spent two years at PSG before joining Barcelona in 2003, backed the winger, saying:

"He's one of the best players in the world.

"He has had several injuries this year. When he's at 100 percent he's a really special player for this team. Neymar, [Angel] Di Maria, Messi... the greatest players are together. If you're not happy with that, who are you going to play with?"

Meanwhile, Mbappe's contract will expire next month, and Madrid is still keen to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu, despite suggestions that he may choose to stay in Paris.
