USA qualified for the World Cup despite Costa Rica loss

Panama, the USA's goal difference had reached such a level that they avoided participating in the playoffs, and despite 3 points difference and 10 goal, they prepared for the final game against Costa Rica.
The United States had a strong start, and Keylor Navas, with his spectacular reactions at the beginning of the game, prevented the opponent from scoring, and then took a great opportunity from the United States. Costa Rica were able to ease the pressure of the USA attacks and take control of the game, but the first half ended in a goalless draw.
Costa Rica started the second half well, scoring the first goal in the 51st minute through Juan Pablo Vargas, and eight minutes later, Anthony Contreras scored the second goal to defeat the United States in the end.
Both teams finished with 25 points, but the United States finished second with a +11 goal difference and Costa Rica finished third with a +5 goal difference. Thus, Los Ticos will have to face New Zealand in the playoffs to determine the task of the promoting team.
