Atletico’s Carrasco given a three-match ban after red card at Porto

After two months of it happening, Atletico Madrid have been told that the red card Yannick Carrasco received at Porto in the Champions League will have him banned from three games.

found the punishment very harsh. They aim to appeal to lessen the number of games the winger will miss. This situation also happened to Antoine Griezmann and Felipe, so they are optimistic about it.

Atletico will lock horns with

in the Champions League Round of 16, with the first leg coming on February 23rd at the Wanda Metropolitano. The second leg will happen on March 15th at Old Trafford.

In the group stage, Atletico finished second and crawled their way to the Round of 16. This season, they have been enduring a hard time across all competitions. Notwithstanding being the

defending champions, they are sitting fourth in the table, 14 points behind Real Madrid on the top.
