Klopp's assistant tested positive for Covid-19 before Arsenal clash

The Covid-19 outbreak has hit Liverpool hard.

Jurgen Klopp's assistant Pep Lijnders also contracted Corona to make it difficult for the club in Thursday night's game against Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp is in home quarantine due to Covid19, and Pep Lijnders replaced him in

Liverpool

dogout for the semi-finals of the League Cup at the Emirates Stadium.

It was announced that the Dutch coach's press conference will be held at noon on Wednesday, but now this press conference has been canceled and none of the Liverpool technical staff members intend to speak instead of Klopp and Lijnders before this game.

Given that the head coach and the assistant of him are currently in quarantine, it remains to be seen whether there is still an emphasis on holding this game or not. If the decision is made to hold this game, it is by no means clear who will be in charge of Liverpool instead of Klopp and Lijnders on the pitch.

Some of the Klopp's closest technical staff members, as well as the club's Under-23 coach Barry Lotas, are among the options, but it is not yet clear whether any of them will be on the pitch.

Liverpool sent a formal request to cancel the match on Tuesday night, as they did not even hold a training session due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Liverpool will be without Alisson Becker, Roberto Firmino and Joel Matip due to coronavirus, Takumi Minamino, Divok Origi, Harvey Elliott and Thiago Alcantara are out because of injury and

Mohamed Salah

, Sadio Mane and

Naby Keita

are on international duty.
