Samuel Eto'o against FIFA 's decion on African Cup of Nations

The possibility of postponing the African Cup of Nations has drawn much criticism.

Cameroon

Football Federation president and football legend Samuel Eto'o believes the

African Cup of Nations

should be held in January.

The African Cup of Nations will start in about 20 days, starting on January 9, and there are rumors that the tournament will be postponed or even canceled. The rumors were reinforced by remarks made by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who supported the postponement of the tournament in September. However, African Confederation President Samuel Eto'o and Patrice Motsepe are opposed to the postponement.

Eto'o said:

“I do not see a convincing reason to postpone the Africa Cup of Nations, the Euro was played during the pandemic with full stadiums.

“They played in many cities in Europe, so why shouldn’t we play in Cameroon? If some think we should postpone the tournament, they need to give a good reason.”
