Barca hope for Pedri & Fati to return for the clash against Mallorca

The Blaugrana hopes that youngsters Pedri and Ansu Fati return to action for their battle against Mallorca on January 2 – their first game after the break.

Pedri

has not been playing since November as he sustained a thigh injury and has been having a hard time finding his form after an extremely busy 2020-21 season.

Fati

, on the other hand, was out most of the previous season and made a few appearances this time around.

As per reports from

Mundo Deportivo

,

Barcelona

are expecting to have the duo back in their squad for their first battle after the winter break against

Mallorca

on January 2.

Pedri, who has received France Football’s Kopa Trophy and Tuttosport's Golden Boy award, has been improving but he still should continue his rehabilitation the way he is now to get fit for that fixture, whereas the Catalans do not want to risk Fati’s return before the break.

Dani Alves

, who signed another contract with the club last month but has to wait to register in January, is about to make his second debut for Barca against Mallorca.

Barcelona have been dealt a lot of blows with injury setbacks even before Sergio Aguero decided to call it quits due to his heart condition on Wednesday.

Starting the season on the wrong foot after Lionel Messi’s departure led to Ronald Koeman being sacked and Xavi was appointed as his replacement.

The ex-midfielder has delivered two victories, two draws and two defeats in his first six matches.
