Pique's pleased with Barca’s second-half performance against Cadiz

Barca had to settle on a La Liga draw at Cadiz. While Pique slams on his side’s performance in the first half, he’s pleased how his side held out after Frenkie De Jong’s 65th-minute sent off.

Both teams were quiet in the first half before Cadiz burst into life in the second following Frenkie de Jong's red card. Unable to take advantage of their one-man more man,

Barca held out Cadiz for a goalless draw

.

De Jong

controversially received a second yellow card in the 65th minute for following through on Alfonso Espino after initially winning the ball while

Koeman

was also ejected for his protestations towards referee Carlos del Cerro Grande in the stoppage time.

“We came for the win. In the first half, we generated little. In the second, we have been better,”

Pique said after the game.

“The Frenkie red card changed everything. The last half-hour we have competed with 10. The game could have fellen to both sides.”

Under-pressure boss Ronald Koeman,

who’s reportedly on the verge of getting sacked, said:

“I do not talk about my personal situation.

"It seems that if I win I continue and if I lose the club has to find another coach. It is for you [to talk about].

"The president [Joan Laporta] was at the hotel, and we greeted each other shortly before leaving. Surely there will be more days to talk about this issue if the club wants to talk."
