Nuno sees the bright side of Tottenham's 3-0 loss to Chelsea

Nuno Espirito Santo, the head manager of Tottenham Hotspur, argued that there were lessons to be taken from his team's 3-0 loss against Chelsea on Sunday.

Spurs began strongly, but the tables shifted at halftime when N'Golo Kante was substituted in place of Mason Mount. Chelsea then seized control of the game, winning conveniently, thanks to goals from Thiago Silva, Kante, and a late shot from Antonio Rudiger.

"We're disappointed. The first half was very good. The game had two halves, clearly." Nuno said after the game.

"In the first half I think we competed really well. We were the better team, in control, pressing high and creating situations. For 50 minutes we held on, until the first goal. After that the game changed, it became very hard for the boys, very hard for us.

"Chelsea are a good team, good in possession, created many problems. But in the first half, if there are any positives."

Nuno set up his team to push Chelsea's back three high, and when questioned if the strategy surprised their opponents, he said:

"I don't know if they were surprised but the idea was that clearly we needed to start the match really strong and we did it with really good pressing, recovering the ball, creating situations and the plan was to score.

"There was a chance, chances to do it but like I said to you, the first half - fantastic."

Spurs have now gone three rounds without a win, having lost to

Crystal Palace

last weekend and then drawing 2-2 with

Rennes

in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.

They'll be aiming to get back on track next Sunday when they meet Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in an exciting north London derby.
