Andreas Pereira: Man Utd midfielder close to joining Flamengo on loan
Manchester United out-of-favor midfielder Andreas Pereira is close to joining Flamengo on a season-long loan.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at
Lazioafter falling down the pecking order under
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
following the arrival of
Bruno Fernandes
and
Donny van de Beek
.
He returned to Old Trafford ahead of the 2021-2022 campaign but was an unused substitute as United opened their Premier League season with a 5-1 win over
Leeds Unitedon Saturday.
Pereira’s current deal at Old Trafford runs until the summer of 2023, with an option of a further year. But the Brazilian wants to leave as he has his eyes on making the Brazil squad for the 2022 World Cup.

, Pereira is set to move to
Flamengoon loan, with just the final details to be sorted.
Pereira signed for United in January 2012 from
PSV Eindhoven. He made his debut for the first team in the League Cup in August 2014, coming on as a substitute as they lost 4-0 to MK Dons.
He has made 75 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
