Sky Sports: Juventus scheduled a meeting with Sassuolo for Locatelli
Being long admirers of Sassuolo midfielders, Juventus had an offer rejected in April and are to step up their interest as they will meet with Sassuolo tomorrow to discuss Manuel Locatelli, in the race with Arsenal.
According to
Calcio Mercatoand
Sky Sports Italia, despite the fact that
Arsenal
have offered €40m in cash for the midfielder,
Juve
will have their second meeting with
Sassuolo
on Friday as
the former Milan man has his heart set on Juventusand will push to stay within Serie A.
In order to compete with the Gunners’ offer,
Juve
are keen to offer €30m plus one or more youth team players to get the deal over the line.
If that offer is rejected,
the Bianconeri
would propose a similar format to the one that brought Federico Chiesa to Turin from Fiorentina, a two-season loan with an obligation to buy.
On the other side,
Sassuolo are reportedly interested in signing Marko Grujic from Liverpoolas Locatelli’s replacement and has made a formal inquiry about the midfielder’s situation.
The 25-year-old has finished his loan spell with
Porto
after playing for
Hertha Berlin
on a loan deal previously. With his contract with the Reds due to expire in 2023, Jurgen Klopp’s side has put a £13m price tag on the Serbian midfielder.
The Reds
, who will play their opening match of the season against Norwich City, don’t seem to be needing the player despite their struggles with lack of high-quality players last season as they are already counting on some of their academy graduates to provide backup power for the first team.
