Ryan Bertrand set to join Leicester City
The former England international is set to make a move to Leicester City.
Ryan Bertrand
has put pen to paper for a two-year contract with
Leicester City, with an option to make it three years, as he became a free agent after seven years at
Southampton.
The 31-year-old will reunite with Leicester manager
Brendan Rodgers
, who coached the Chelsea youth and Bertrand was in the club’s academy.
James Justin, the Leicester left-back, sustained a knee injury which saw him sidelined and Bertrand will compete with Luke Thomas for a place in the starting XI when the new season begins.
He is Leicester’s second signing this summer with Red Bull Salzburg’s Patson Daka being the first to join the club.
They will go into the Premier League season in a battle against Wolves on August 14.
