Brozovic demands a €6m salary for renewing his Inter contract

With his contract due to expire next summer, the Croatian midfielder has emerged on top of the list of Inter players who the club plans to renew their contracts.

According to

La Gazzetta dello Sport

, the newly appointed Nerazzurri boss,

Simone Inzaghi

, has urged the board of the club to keep the 28-year-old midfielder at San Siro and the club hopes to reach an agreement with the 28-year-old after Euro 2020.

Marcelo Brozović

joined Inter from Dinamo Zagreb for a $5.50m bargain in 2016 and since his arrival, he went on to establish himself as one of the finest midfielders in Serie A.

Contributing 2 goals and 6 assists in 33 Serie A games this season, the midfielder was a key part of Antonio Conte’s team that put an end to a 10-year league title drought.

However, with the arrival of Calhanoglu for a contract worth €5m plus bonuses, the Croatian, who currently earns €3.5m-a-year, has reportedly increased his demands.

Currently with

Croatia

’s Euro 2020 squad, the midfielder will be back in action when his side faces Spain in the competition’s round of 16 on Monday, and the negotiations between the club and player have been postponed until after the Euros this summer.

However,

Inter

might have to sell the Croatian if the two parties struggle to reach an agreement.
