Liverpool’s Taiwo Awoniyi granted a UK work permit
The Reds striker has attracted interest from several English clubs, including Fulham and West Brom.
After joining
Liverpoolin 2015,
Taiwo Awoniyiwas loaned out to multiple clubs across Europe. According to
Goal.com, the Nigerian striker has now been granted a UK work permit for the 2021-22 season. The player will be able to continue his career in England and might spend the pre-season with
Jurgen Klopp
’s side. Awoniyi’s performances for
Union Berlinin the current season have attracted interest from a host of English clubs.
Fulham,
West Brom, and
Stokehave been already involved in initial negotiations for the player while he has other suitors in Bundesliga. Having rejected
Anderlecht’s £5-million approach, Liverpool are reportedly interested in an £8m deal for the 23-year-old. Awoniyi has featured in 20 Bundesliga matches for Union Berlin in their current campaign, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists. The German club are reportedly interested in signing the player on a permanent deal but a move away from the club seems more probable.
