Juve icon launched the Buffon Football Academy

Gianluigi Buffon, the Juventus goalkeeper, has launched the Buffon Football Academy, which will 'offer boys and girls aged eight to sixteen a highly specialized goalkeeper course.'

While the 43-year-own old's future is unclear, he has established an academy to educate young people by passing on his knowledge and introducing boys and girls to the position of goalkeeper.

The World Cup winner has 10

Scudettos

, five Coppa Italia, and seven Supercoppa Italiana with Juventus, as well as the UEFA Cup with Parma in 1998-99 and the French

Ligue 1

with PSG during his one-year stay.

His unique academy now strives to help many talented amateur footballers develop and refine their techniques.

"The Buffon Football Academy was created to offer boys and girls aged eight to 16 a highly specialized course, aimed at improving the technical skills of those who dream of a future in the world of football," Buffon told in an announcement.

"I have always believed in the value of training, even more so in this complicated period for each of us. It's a complete package, with a personalised training programme created specifically for each goalkeeper.

"We hope to be able to kick off the 'Buffon Summer Camp' as early as June and my wish is to be able to meet the guys on June 13 in Marina di Pietrasanta, but obviously the start of the activities is subject to the COVID emergency."
