Xabi Alonso and an unexpected destination

Former Spain star is set to replace Marco Rose at Gladbach.

Borussia Mönchengladbach

boss

Marco Rose

will officially leave the club in a few months. Now,

Bild

has reported that

Xabi Alonso

will take over at Gladbach in 2021-22 season, after Rose’s departure.

Alonso is currently leading

Real Sociedad

’s second team in Segunda Division B and his contract with the club will expire this summer.

The former star of

Liverpool

,

Real Madrid

and

Bayern Munich

has had a fantastic run in his playing days and many believe that the 39-year-old has the potential to excel in his coaching career.

There have been some rumors about Alonso taking over at his former club, Real Madrid, which seems unlikely at the moment, however, his success at Gladbach could pave the way for leading the European giants.

Alonso also played for Bayern Munich during

Pep Guardiola

's reign at the club, and being familiar with the Germany, the language and Bundesliga can be of a great help for the Spaniard in his new journey.
