Dortmund prioritizes Bundesliga over Champions League, says Zorc

Dortmund's sporting director insists his club are determined to play in the Champions League next season as they are eager to keep their best players.

Borussia Dortmund

sit fifth in the Bundesliga as they are one point behind top-four rivals

Eintracht Frankfurt

. The Westfalenstadion qualified to the Champions League quarter-finals last week as they managed to beat

Sevilla

5-4 on aggregate. However,

Michael Zorc

says they are more focused on finishing Bundesliga in top-four as they want to keep their top stars.

"I have never seen someone like him. We can search Europe-wide,"

Zorc told

Welt am Sonntag

when asked about

Erling Haaland

.

"If he ever left us somewhere, there would only be a handful of clubs, but we'll try to keep him as long as possible for sporting reasons."

He added:

"We don't want to play in the Europa League on Thursdays. We want to give our calling card in the Champions League,"

Haaland has been a key player for Dortmund this season. The Norwegian striker has scored 19 goals in 20 Bundesliga matches for Dortmund while leading the Champions League top scorers table with 10 goals.
