Phil Bardsley extends his contract with Burnley to 2022
The 35-year-old has signed a new contract with the Clarets that will keep him at Turf Moor until the summer of 2022.
Starting his career with
Manchester United
, the English full-back signed for Sunderland in 2008 after spending loan spells at
Royal Antwerp, Burnley, Rangers, Aston Villa,
and
Sheffield United
. Winning the Black Cats’ 2010–11 Player of the Season award, he headed to Stoke City in 2017, and then returned to Burnley in 2019.

Bardsley

"I think when players in front of you are delivering you have to bide your time and I think we have a healthy respect here for that kind of thinking."
In addition to Bardsley,
Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Matt Lowton, Erik Pieters,
and
Kevin Long
have extended their stay at the club as well.
