Alberto: “I’m getting back in shape and I’m happy at Lazio”

talked about his discussion with Claudio Lotito in an interview with Marca. He also revealed his future plans and his comeback from the surgery he underwent in January.

“

I’m getting back in shape

,” Luis Alberto said. “

I forced myself to return because I was in a good moment and I didn’t get back to the top.

“After the match against Atalanta, I regretted it because the wound opened up.”

The 28-year-old believes that his side ‘have to beat the best’ to thrive in the Champions League and he is prepared for the match against Bayern Munich.

“

Nobody thinks we are favourites, but we have our chances,” he said. “We like teams that attack and concede space.

“To go far, we must beat the best. The team are happy again and we have to continue like this.”

The Spanish midfielder then talked about his problem with the club president.

“

It was resolved in the way it had to be resolved,

” he revealed. “

I make myself available for [coach Simone] Inzaghi and [assistant Angelo] Peruzzi and no one can blame me for my sacrifice.”

He continued to say that he has a great time at Lazio when he was quizzed about his future plans.

“

I’m happy at Lazio. If the club decides to sell me, that’s another story. As long as I have a contract with the Biancocelesti, I want to do my best.”
