Perth Glory crush Adelaide United in their season-opening match
Richard Garcia started his A-League coaching career with a 5-3 victory at HBF Park.
ended the first half of their Wednesday match with a 2-1 victory before
Bruno Fornarolimade it 3-1 in the 51st minute.
Nicholas D’Agostinoand
Carlo Armientoscored two more goals for the Glory to make it 5-1 but two late goals from Mohamed Toure and Ben Halloran redeemed the final result for the visiting side. The final 5-3 result was especially significant as Perth Glory played in the absence of some of their most important players. Diego Castro, Chris Ikonomidis, Osama Malik, Kosuke Ota have all been out of the Glory’s squad for the first match of the season because of fitness problems. In a post-match interview,
Richard Garcia
was asked D'Agostino’s performance as he scored a brace against
Adelaide United.
"He had a good game. It's always good to get two goals,
"I thought he endeavoured to work hard all the time, and that's something we talk to about with Nick and he's constantly in the right positions.
"It's great to get the goals, but I think the team in itself worked hard as a group. That's the most important thing."
