Portugal

In the group stages of Euro 2016, this national team did not win a single game, drawing all three of their matches, but they still managed to qualify for the tournament in third place, which they could then do again this summer.

Portugal advanced to the final after defeating Croatia in extra time and then defeating Poland on penalties in the semi-finals. They then defeated

2-0 to reach the final.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s national team has an excellent overall record in this competition, having advanced to the semi-finals in 1984, 2000, and 2012, as well as quarter-finals in 1996 and 2008. Portugal finished second in Euro 2004 on home soil and is expected to progress further in this year's tournament.

Meanwhile, Santos' team is on a six-game winning streak, having drawn 0-0 with Spain before hammering Israel 4-0 in two friendlies earlier this month.

Hungary vs. Portugal – head-to-head in all competition

These two teams have met each other in the green field in the competition a total of 13 times. It is just shocking to say that Portugal has never lost to Hungary.

Starting with a 3-3 draw on 26 December 1926, most of their matches were friendlies. 9 wins for Portugal and 4 draws for both, Hungary’s chances to win has always seemed slim. Would they be able to make history by defeating Portugal? We shall see.

Hungary

Willi Orban and Attila Szalai are certain starters at the back, while the other spot in the back three is up for consideration, as is the right-sided wing-back place.

Roland Sallai has been out recently with a minor ailment, but the 24-year-old is expected to be healthy for the Group opener, where he will team up with leader Adam Szalai in the final third of the field.

In a 3-5-2 system, Adam Lang might start at the back, with Laszlo Kleinheisler on the right and Bristol City's Adam Nagy in the center.

Prediction

Due to Portugal's amazing record against Hungary, it seems near impossible for the opposing team to be able to break the record and defeat the Os Navegadores.

Although one player can not be much of an influence for the team but Ronaldo is one-man army and he has proven it a few times now. Based on these factors we guess that Portugal would come out victorious by a result of 2-0.
