Style of play
Moutinho has spent much of his career as a deep-lying central midfielder, but he has also been able to play behind the striker and on either side.
He is well-known for his outstanding passing range and goal-scoring ability. Over the years, he's also proved to be a capable set-piece taker - but he'll have to persuade defenders to let him take free-kicks from long range.
He can also track back and defend, which is crucial in a system of two central midfielders, which Nuno would almost certainly employ.

Moutinho's football school is Joao's football school in Lagoa Town, Portugal. His family runs the academy, with his father Nelson serving as the head coach. Children studying in the program are now training at Estômbar's municipal arena, so it won't be far until the school transforms into a full-fledged academy for best foreign practices.
Although most players are well trained for a match by preparation, Joao Moutinho goes beyond and beyond through listening to music and playing strategy games.
In terms of football, music aids his concentration while strategy games help him to make decisive and he said: one must be able to analyze things well. I still try to see what choices I have before receiving a pass. To be a better player, you must be able to think faster than your opponents.
