Carlos Alberto claims Mourinho is the next Brazil head coach

After the departure of Tite, Jose Mourinho has been heavily linked to becoming Brazil's head coach. His former midfielder at Porto reveals that the Portuguese could be the next Selecao's manager, with the Roma boss already asking him to be his assistant.

After a poor display at the 2022 World Cup, Tite was sacked as

Brazil

's manager with the Brazilian federation going on a hunt for a new manager.

Jose Mourinho

emerged as a top candidate from early on. The Portuguese’s former player at Porto,

Carlos Alberto

, revealed the “inside information” that Mourinho is already in line to replace Tite.

Alberto told

Mundo GV podcast:

"I was going to drop a bomb here, but I can't. I'll talk then. Maybe [Mourinho)is the coach of the Brazilian team. Speaking first hand. It's information," said the 38-year-old, who retired from playing in 2019. "It doesn't matter where the information comes from, I'm giving you the information... because he even invited me [to be his No.2]."

Asked about his opinion of Mourinho, Alberto added:

"In my opinion, the coach who is a leader has no vanity, and Mourinho, people have an image of him that he is arrogant, but he is none of that."
