Rafael Leao helps Milan beat Inter 3-2 in front of new owners

Rafael Leao turned on the style for Milan with a derby double on a landmark appearance, the 23-year-old proving too hot for Inter to handle.

Rafael Leao

's 100th Serie A game was a big one. He scored two goals in the derby, which helped

Milan

beat Inter 3-2 at San Siro. The Portuguese winger also had an assist and was the best player on the field. He stayed in Milan even though

Chelsea

was recently interested in him.

Leao's work helped Milan beat their rivals from the same city, with whom they share the famous stadium, for the second time in a league match. It's the first time they've done this since the 2010-2011 season when Massimiliano Allegri took over, and Milan won their first two league derbies.

Scudetto holders also got a goal from

Olivier Giroud

. Milan won the

Derby Della Madonnina

. Inter's goals were scored by Marcelo Brozovic and Edin Dzeko. In the 21st minute, Milan's defense broke down, giving Brozovic a clear path to the goal. The midfielder took a through ball from Joaquin Correa and put the ball in the bottom-left corner.

Leao scored Milan's equalizer eight minutes later with a left-footed shot past Handanovic. He got a fingertip on the ball, but it went into the right corner. Before halftime, Milan stepped up their game and got the upper hand. Sandro Tonali, Theo Hernandez,

Charles De Ketelaere

, and Giroud made threats.

Giroud gave them the lead in the 54th minute. Leao's cross from close to the left sideline found the French striker, who sent a shot that bounced over Handanovic and into the goal. The goalie should've done a better job.

Inter's defense should be ashamed of how easy it was for Leao to get through and score Milan's third goal and his second in the 60th minute. The forward's quick feet were impressive, but it was embarrassing that he didn't make a tackle.

The Nerazzurri got a chance to win when Dzeko scored off a low cross from Matteo Darmian. However, Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan blocked another shot from the Bosnian as Inter tried in vain to tie the game.
