Newcastle may be unable to field a full team against Everton
The English coach announced the deplorable situation of his team for the next games.
boss Eddie Howe has claimed that they may unable to field a full team for their Premier League match against
Everton.
For yesterday's match against Manchester United, Newcastle was able to introduce only 8 players on the bench, two of whom were goalkeepers. The Covid-19 crisis has severely affected the Premier League and the prevalence of the virus among players has increased in recent weeks. In yesterday's match,
Allan Saint-Maximinand Callum Wilson were added to the injury list and now they have trouble for their meeting against Everton.
"The lads gave everything but we are thin on the ground in terms of bodies,"
Howe told Sky Sports.
"These are difficult moments for us. I believe it's 13 plus a goalkeeper [players required for a game to proceed]. We're going to be dangerously close to that number.
"Callum's injury doesn't look good. Just the way he went down with no one around him. Allan, I don't think is as serious."
Asked if the Everton game will be held, Howe said:
"I don't know. We'll see what the situation is with the players that we have."
