Lewandowski responded to Messi chants with his performance

The Polish star managed to score two goals against his former team and played an important role in Bayern's victory.

Bayern Munich

coach Julian Nagelsmann claims that

Robert Lewandowski

responded to the chants of

Dortmund

fans with his performance on the pitch.

The Ballon d'Or ceremony was held last week, and Messi won the title for the seventh time, and Lewandowski failed to win it again. The former Dortmund striker played against the team last night and scored two goals to give his team a 3-2 lead and three points in the game. Dortmund fans tried to demolish Lewandowski by chanting Messi, and Nagelsmann claimed that the Polish star responded on the pitch.

The Germand said:

"All of this rather spurred him on. He scored the significant goals and paid the fans back after all the Messi calls in the stadium."

Asked about the game, Nagelsmann replied:

"I think we deserved to win, but I also understand the discussions over the two penalty situations," said Nagelsmann.

"It was a very tight game that was worthy of its reputation. We could have scored more in the first half.

"Dortmund did it well early in the second half, but we found our rhythm again and had good control."
