Bernardeschi's Renaissance: Securing His Toronto Legacy

Italian Maestro Poised for MLS Renewal Amidst Stellar Form and International Pedigree

According to reports from Calciomercato, Toronto FC appears to be pleased with the recent performances of their 30-year-old player. He has notably scored two goals and provided three assists in his last four matches. As a result, there are talks of extending his contract, which is due to expire in 2026.

Federico Bernardeschi, the former Juventus winger, has experienced a varied tenure at Toronto FC since joining them from Juventus in 2022. While he had a promising start, scoring eight goals in 14 games in his debut season, his performance dipped in 2023 with only five goals in 33 appearances. However, his current form suggests a turnaround, possibly earning him a contract extension.

Bernardeschi, known for his versatility as a winger and attacking midfielder, boasts an impressive international career with 39 caps for Italy and six goals. Across his professional career, he has scored a total of 63 goals in 374 appearances, predominantly in Serie A.

Looking ahead, Bernardeschi might be in the lineup for Toronto FC's upcoming

fixture against New York City FC. The team currently holds the third position in the Eastern Conference standings after 11 matches, trailing behind Cincinnati and the league leaders, Inter Miami.
