Herbie Kane on his regretful move to Liverpool

The ex-Reds player talked about his time with the Premier League team admitting that his time with the club "wasn't the best" in his career.

Barnsley

midfielder and former

Liverpool

player,

Herbie Kane

, who had only two appearances with the Reds senior squad, admitted that joining the Premier League club at the age of fifteen and spending seven years with them

"wasn't the best"

time of his career.

Kane failing to earn a regular place on the senior squad said:

"It's not something I've really looked back at before, but I think with reflection, I'd probably stay at Bristol City if I had to make the same decision again. In terms of Liverpool, I've got to be honest, it wasn't the best.”

"A lot of things are promised to you when they're trying to sign you, but nothing ever came of it - but that can be football in general to be honest.”

"The only way I can explain what it was like for me there was how when you're playing as a kid and you're picking the teams, and you're the last one picked.”

"It was that kind of feeling. It wasn't the best for me there, but it was a valuable experience and I probably wouldn't be here at Barnsley without it."

Kane has 13 appearances with Barnsley, who currently sit ninth in the

Championship

table.
