Northern Ireland relegated from UEFA Nations League

Romania was granted a 3-0 triumph over Norway after their game neglected to proceed, dispatching Northern Ireland from Group B1.

Northern Ireland

has been sent off from the

Nations League

only hours before their match against

Romania

on Wednesday.

The UEFA conferred Romania a 3-0 success over

Norway

after the Scandinavian side's nonappearance on Sunday, following

Omar Elabdellaoui

testing positive for Covid-19.

As a result, Romania moved six points away from base side Northern Ireland before their face-off at Windsor Park in the last round of matches in

Group B1

The chairman of the UEFA appeals body adjudged:

"To declare the 2020-21 Nations League match between Romania and Norway, that was scheduled to be played on 15 November 2020, as forfeited by the Norwegian Football Association [who is therefore deemed to have lost the match 3-0] for being responsible for the match not taking place."

With third-set Romania now unattainable, Northern Ireland will spend the following Nations League tournament in

League C

Norway sent a completely altered squad to

Austria

for Wednesday's rivalry to choose who acquires advancement to

League A

Under-21 manager Leif Gunnar Smerud was given the assignment of supervising the Norway crew that included only one player who has been highlighted in one of their past games in the Group B of Nation League.
