Gagliardini hints at Inter exit at the end of the season

Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini wants to leave the club at the end of the season.

Gagliardini

has only started in two Serie A games this season for Inter and wants to join another club for more playing time. The Italian midfielder who started in Inter's 1-0 win against Verona on Saturday also has featured off the bench six times this season.

The 28-year-old Gagliardini joined

Inter

 from

Atalanta

on a loan deal in 2017, with an obligation to buy in the summer of 2018. He will be a free agent at the end of the campaign.

Gagliardini told Sky Sport:

"I'm no longer willing to have this playing time. I'm 28 years old, and I want to prove a lot.

"I'm more ready than a few years ago, because these years have seen great growth for me, in my head and in the reaction to the difficult moments, so in June I will make my decisions."

Gagliardini has scored 16 goals in 174 matches for Inter and won three trophies including the Serie A title in 2021.

After the match against Verona on Saturday, Inter’s manager Simone Inzaghi was asked about Gagliardini’s comments.

He told reporters:

"The important thing is that he does well on the pitch.

"He's highly regarded by everyone, he's a serious professional who works very well. He's had a few minor problems in the last year, but he's always gritted his teeth, guaranteeing his contribution."
