Al-Nassr boss targets "rediscover the pleasure of playing" for Ronaldo

After struggling at Portugal and Manchester United, the Portuguese star moved to Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr in a lucrative deal. The Saudi Arabian club's boss hopes the 37-year-old rediscovers the joy of playing in the Middle East.

Cristiano Ronaldo

has signed a 2-year deal with

Al Nassr

which would see the 37-year-old earn a reported €200m per year when his commercial deals are also included. The contract will run until June 2025 and will include a reported base salary of €70m.

Asked about his plans for the iconic forward, the Al-Nassr boss

Rudi Garcia

told reporters:

“The only thing I wish for Ronaldo is that he rediscovers the pleasure of playing and smiles again because in recent months between Manchester United, the national team and then at a personal level he hasn't had easy moments. If he finds the pleasure of playing again, that will already be a goal achieved.”

Having spent 21 seasons in Europe's top leagues playing for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, Ronaldo left European football behind with more than 700 club goals to his name.
