Ronaldo says his Al-Nassr critics “know nothing about football”

The Portuguese star moved to Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr in a lucrative deal that has been questioned by many of his fans and critics alike. Ronaldo responds with a strong message in a press conference.

Cristiano Ronaldo

 has moved to

Al Nassr

on a two-and-a-half-year deal which would see him earn something close to €200m a year. Many have questioned his decision to move to the Middle East and have deemed it sad that a player like Ronaldo has chosen to go to a less-prestigious league. However, the 5-time Ballon d’Or responds to critics strongly during his press conference.

"Many people speak and give their opinions but they really do not know nothing about football. As you know football now, probably the last 10-15 years it is different, all the teams are more prepared, more ready,"

he told reporters.

"So for me it's not the end of my career to come to [Saudi Arabia], that's what I want to change. So I really don't worry about what the people say."

Al-Nassr

will be back in action in the Saudi Pro League on Thursday against Al Tee with Ronaldo asking to play as soon as possible for his new club.
