Colombian keeper Devis Vasquez joins Milan to replace injured Maignan

Mike Maignan suffered a calf strain when playing for France's national team on international duty in September that has sidelined him up to now. Milan finalizes the signing of the 24-year-old Colombian goalkeeper on Monday to replace the Frenchman.

Milan has officially signed

Devis Vasquez

from Club Guarani to provide more competition for the number one goalkeeper with the France international,

Mike Maignan

injured. Vasquez joins Antonio Mirante and Ciprian Tatarusanu with the Colombian goalkeeper’s contract running until June 2026. Vasquez made 25 appearances for Guarani last season as he established himself among the coming talents of his generation.

Rossoneri head coach

Stefano Pioli

revealed that he does not expect Maignan to be fit for the foreseeable future. He told his pre-match conference ahead of their Wednesday clash with Salernitana:

"At this moment no, the evaluations we are making tell us that it is not possible to force now and therefore I do not know how to give a timing on the return. Not soon, I can say that for sure."
