McTominay wants to improve his goalscoring record for Man Utd

The Scottish midfielder has not been able to record good scoring statistics in recent seasons.

Manchester United

midfielder

Scott McTominay

claimed that he plans to become a scoring midfielder.

After a 4-0 win against

Liverpool

, United managed to overcome Melbourne with a 4-1 advantage, and McTominay scored his team's equaliser, followed by Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and an own goal. McTominay's 20-yard shot hit the Melbourne defender and entered the team's goal, and the Scottish midfielder, who scored only one goal in the Premier League last season, talked about his motivation to score in the upcoming season.

He said:

"It's all of us, not just myself. I know I can score more goals. The manager wants more players in the box, which is where you score goals."

Asked about Ten Hag's tactics, McTominay said:

"For us, the level of detail which he's talking about is so easy to understand. All his ideas can come at once, and we can take them on board."

"Everyone's so, so happy with the new coach in terms of the detail and the attention to the work we're doing, and everyone's so fit now, and we can get fitter. I can get fitter and the whole team can, which is obviously a benefit for the future as well."
