Fernandes in contention to face Liverpool despite car crash

The Manchester United interim boss reassured that nobody got hurt in a car crash that involved Bruno Fernandes, who is in contention for the battle against the Reds.

Ralf Rangnick

revealed that

Bruno Fernandes

has not got hurt and will play for

Manchester United

when they go against

Liverpool

notwithstanding being involved in an accident when going to training.

There were photos of the player on social media on Monday as he was checking his Porsche following a crash with another car.

Reports revealed that no one was hurt and Portugal international will be available for the Red Devils’ battle against Liverpool on Tuesday.

The interim boss also reassured everyone in his news conference before the game that the 27-year-old is fine to go against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

He told reporters:

"Yes, he was in training with the team.

"Obviously the accident happened on the way to Carrington [United's training base]. As far as I know, no one was injured.

"He trained with the team and he was okay, and that's why I think he will also be okay for [the game]."

Rangnick also talked about their battle against Liverpool.

Rangnick said:

“We need to be on our very very best defensively.”

“With regards to injured players we have the same situation as the last two games.”

Rangnick was also asked about his opinion on new coach:

“I don’t know, this is an issue for the club and the board. As soon as there is something to announce I’m sure they will.”

The interim boss also answered questions regarding Paul Pogba, saying:

“He knows how to handle that [fasting], I haven’t spoken about that with him. I also know at least one Liverpool player who is also doing the Ramadan.”

The Red Devils will aim to dent the Reds’ quadruple hopes when they meet on Tuesday while trying to push for their own chance to finish in the top four.

Rangnick said:

“We will try to get the three points. We are still in the race for number four; but to win that race we have to win every game.”
