Despite interest from MLS, Chiellini prefers to focus on Juventus

Giorgio Chiellini's Juventus contract is set to expire in June 2023, and talk over his future has been rife.

Giorgio Chiellini

, the

Juventus

captain, aims to continue enjoying his game and decide his future shortly, despite continuous rumors about a contract extension or exit. The Italy veteran has made 16 appearances for Juve in

Serie A

this season, despite a season marred by injuries and COVID-19.

In his absence,

Leonardo Bonucci

and

Matthijs De Ligt

have taken over at the heart of the defense for Massimilano Allegri's side, who are fourth in the league, six points behind leaders Milan. Chiellini's contract is set to expire at the conclusion of next season, prompting speculation regarding his plans in Turin. According to reports in Italy, Chiellini is considering a move to

Major League Soccer

, but he is focused on his current season with Juve.

On Monday, Chiellini, who has been with Juve since 2004, said, "I'm glad, tranquil; I have to understand and examine many things. Meanwhile, I'll keep enjoying the games I'm involved in. When speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Chiellini's agent, Davide Lippi, son of Italy's World Cup-winning coach Marcello, echoed Chiellini's comments.

He remarked of a Chiellini rebirth, "It's still early to talk about it." "It's too early to speculate on his future; he's completely focused on Juventus and only wants to finish the season as strongly as possible."

"We are talking about an international athlete," Lippi said of a move to the United States. We don't know where he'll be, but there will be plenty of opportunities. Decision-making with such a player requires patience."
