Bayern in advanced talks over a transfer for Leipzig's Sabitzer

With David Alaba and Javi Martinez leaving Bayern this summer, the Bavarians have been on the hunt for a new midfielder in the transfer market during the recent weeks. In addition to the duo, Leon Goretzka has also been linked with a departure from the club.

One of the names that have been constantly

linked with a move to Bayern was Leipzig’s Marcel Sabitzer

. With only one year on his contract, the Austrian can become a bargain in the current Covid-affected market.

According to

AZ

, Die Roten is already in advanced negotiations with both Leipzig and Sabitzer for the Austrian’s signature. The only obstacle in the completion of the deal is Corentin Tolisso’s situation at the club. Die Roten is eager to cash in for the French midfielder before his contract runs out next summer.

It’s been reported that

 Leipzig value the

Sabitzer

between €20 million to €25 million. He has made 143 appearances since he joined the club in 2015 through which he has been able to score 32 goals. He has also been able to prove one assist in four appearances for Austria at Euro 2020.

Premier League giants,

Tottenham

Liverpool

, and

Manchester

United

all have been linked with a move for the Austrian. In addition to them,

there was reported interest from Roma and Milan

 as well.

However, the Austrian would prefer to rejoin his former Leipzig boss,

Julian Nagelsmann

at

Bayern

. The German manager became appointed as the new Bayern Munich head coach this summer, leaving Leipzig after 3 years being in charge of Die Roten Bullen.
