Hart apologies for 'unacceptable' post following Europa League exit
Despite their drop from the Europa League race on Thursday, many were surprised to see a celebratory message posted on the stopper’s official Instagram account.
apologized for his
“Job Done”
message on
following
Tottenham’s Europa League exit at the hands of
Dinamo Zagreb.
The social media post, which included the Spurs 3-0 scoreline, was later deleted and followed by an apology video from the goalkeeper on Friday morning.
Hart admitted that the message misled many to believe that the
Premier Leagueside had won the game for which he was sorry.
The Englishman, who saw his team knocked out of the European race from the sidelines, said:
"I feel I need to come on and make an apology on behalf of my social media team. I've just woken up, but it has just been brought to my attention that someone thought we had won 3-0 last night. Sloppy as it sounds, it's the truth.”
"They posted 'Job Done'. It's unacceptable, I'm sure a lot of people are unhappy and I'm sorry for that. It has obviously not come from me, I've got nothing but love for the team and I'm just as down as the boys are, so apologies.”
"Unfortunately stuff like this happens, just know that it didn't come from any place other than a typo."
Despite Tottenham’s 2-0 win in the first-leg,
Mislav Orsic’s two goals in the second-half and his third in the extra time was enough to eliminate Jose Mourinho's squad from the Europa League race and earn Dinamo Zagreb a spot in the quarter finals.
