Ayling hopes Leeds can keep playing good football

Leeds United proved their competency with an away 1-0 victory at Everton. Though it was their third win of the campaign, with having taken points off Manchester City, Arsenal, and giving the champions Liverpool a headache in their first match, vibes are all positive at Elland Road.

Arsenal

 academy Graduate and current

Leeds United

Defender,

Luke Ayling

, believes his side has learnt a lot from their first Premier League games.

“We’ve been working with (Marcelo Bielsa) for the last two years. It’s the third year of his reign now,”

said Ayling.

“Our first eight games was always going to be a learning curve. I think we’ve learnt a lot from those eight games.

“I think we have a reputation of being a fit team but I thought our football was excellent.

“I think we’re starting to play more football and not just try to be hard to beat. So far, so good.”

 Ayling added to BBC Sport:

“I know quite a lot of people say it, but it is a dream for us to be playing at this level. We were in League One and in the Championship for many years, so to be in the Premier League is what we dreamt of as kids.

“I hope we can keep playing good football and keep this going.”

Although

Bielsa

’s side have the reputation for creating plenty of chances, One criticism is that the side has not been clinical enough. They made 38 chances against Everton but it took them 80 minutes to break the deadlock with

Raphina’s

25-yard strike, which proved to be the fourth goal Everton has conceded from outside of the box this season.

Everton manager,

Carlo Ancelotti

, could not put any blame on

Jordan Pickford

, as the England international had one of his best performances this week in front of the England boss,

Gareth Southgate

. The Italian praised his goalkeeper mentioning his saves from

Patrick Bamford

and

Raphinha

in the first half.

“It was a strange shot because Ben Godfrey was close to the ball, Jordan didn’t see the ball because it was close to the body of Godfrey and it was difficult to save,”

“It was true Jordan did a fantastic save in two or three opportunities.”

It was Everton's fourth defeat in a five-game period, Everton is currently sitting on sixth place in the Premier League table.
