Liverpool 1-0 Man City: Salah strike ended Pep's men unbeaten run

Liverpool ends Manchester City's unbeaten run thanks to a Mohamed Salah goal at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.

City with one goal at Anfield on Sunday. This is Man City's first defeat this season.

Man City now is four points behind leaders Arsenal and Liverpool is in eighth place with 13 points. They are 14 points behind Arsenal with a game in hand.

Salah had a good chance at the start of the second half and was one-one with Ederson but the City’s goalkeeper denied him with a brilliant save.

Haaland had a decent chance in the 33rd minute but Alisson managed to save his effort.

City scored through Foden in the 55th minute but the referee after reviewing the replays decided to rule out the goal for Haaland’s foul on Fabinho.

Gundogan put Haaland in a good position with a through ball but he could not get enough power on his strike and Alisson denied him. 

Salah finally broke the deadlock in the 76th minute and scored for Liverpool. Alisson launched a kick downfield where Salah was left alone with Cancelo. Salah left Cancelo behind and was one-one with Ederson. This time he clipped his effort over the City keeper and into the back of the net.

The referee showed Klopp a red card in the 85th minute after he lost his temper on the sideline.

Nunez could score the second goal but he scuffed his effort when going for the chip over the keeper.
