Chelsea target Salzburg’s Christophe Freund for sporting director role
RB Salzburg sporting director Cristoph Freund is one of the main candidates for the vacant role at Chelsea.
According to the English press,

Fabrizio Romano also reports that
Chelseahas been in contact with Salzburg’s sporting director and talks are still ongoing with other candidates. Chelsea reportedly also has held talks with PSG advisor Luis Campos.
Romano also claims that Chelsea will make their final decision in the next weeks because Todd Boehly wants a new director as soon as possible.
Thomas Tuchel who won the Champions League for Chelsea in 2021 was sacked last week after a 1-0 defeat against Dinamo Zagreb and was replaced with former Brighton manager Graham Potter.
Boehly on Tuesday told a conference in New York that Tuchel was sacked because he did not share their vision for the future of the club and he wants to follow Red Bull and Manchester City model and establish a network of clubs all over the world.
Chelsea will face Salzburg in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
