Manchester United to sign Brighton's wonderkid Moises Caicedo
After playing a key part in Brighton's 2-1 victory over the Red Devils in their opening Premier League game, the 20-year-old Ecuador international has become a priority target for the United after being monitored for a long time by the Premier League giants.
According to
Sky Sports, United are interested in signing Moises Caicedo who impressed in Brighton's opening-weekend win at
Manchester United. In addition to the Red Devils, Arsenal is also reportedly interested in signing the defensive midfielder.
The outlet reports that United is yet hesitant whether to make their interest formal with an official bid as
Brightonhas no intention of selling the player. Having won 23 caps and scored two goals for his country, Caicedo is expected to play a key role for
Ecuadorat the Qatar World Cup this year.
Joining Brighton from
Independiente del Valleon a £5m last year, the Ecuadorian has become a first-team regular for Potter after making his Premier League debut in April against
Arsenal. The midfielder opened his Premier League goal account against the Red Devils in Brighton's 4-0 victory last year with a sweet strike from long range.
As there are only 16 days left in the window and a transfer for
Frenkie de Jonglooking to be unlikely, United have been looking at other options as they are in advanced talks to sign Juventus'
Adrien Rabiot.
